The Game:
Six contestants get a key and try to unlock a car to win it.
How the Game is Played:
1) Player 1 chooses a key from six keys and tries the car. If it works, Player 1 wins the car. Key is not replaced.
2) Player 2 chooses a key from the five remaining keys and tries the car. If it works, Player 2 wins the car. Key is not replaced.
3) Player 3 chooses a key from the four remaining keys and tries the car. If it works, Player 3 wins the car. Key is not replaced.
4) Etc...
Is this a fair game for all contestants?
How to test Practically:
To simulate this game, roll a six-sided die once to indicate the key number that wins.
Then roll for player 1 (keep track of that number). If it is the same number as the winning key, player 1 wins.
If it isn't, then that roll is no longer a possible key so it is ignored.
Roll for player 2 until a new number is rolled (ignore any rolls the same as player 1's roll).
If it is the same number as the winning key, player 2 wins.
Etc...
Simulate the game 30 times (this will take a bit longer).
Place your results in the spreadsheet supplied by your teacher.
